It's "Tackle it Tuesday" at Five Minutes for Mom, and since I've been so busy with my office project, I've let a lot of other things slide. My tackle for today is in two parts; first, a major cleanup of my living and dining rooms, second, I think it's time I pulled out the Easter decorations. I can't believe it's only four days away! I don't have a "before" picture taken yet, but I wanted to get this down in writing before I changed my mind. So, I'll be back later with an update AND pictures.
Update - 5:30 p.m.
Okay, this is embarrassing... but then, it could be worse. I do remember the "wall-to-wall toys" days. Anyway, here's the promised "before" picture of my living/dining room. My daughter was home sick today, so I had to sort of work around her on the couch:
Phase one, the clean sweep, clearing out the clutter, removing a thick layer of dust from every surface and vacuuming probably a pound of dirt and crumbs from the carpet. Only daughter and her heap of blankets remain:
And phase two, the Easter decorations. My mom started this tradition of the "Easter Tree" when we were all little kids. Had I brought in the branches a couple of weeks ago, they would have sprouted pretty green leaves by now. Once again, procrastination bites me in the rear. But I guess it's still looks plenty Easter-y with all those eggs and bunnies, and the branches are a pretty red color.
And a little decoration for the table:
There are a few odd bunnies and lambs scattered around elsewhere, but that's about all there is to it. My holiday decorating gets a little more simplistic each year, it seems. Just enough to remind us that Easter is here, and not at all overwhelming to do. So why do I procrastinate??? Oh well, it's done now, and even though it's snowing here today, I do have a little more "spring" in my step.
So... what did you tackle today?

Hi heather. it looks so amazing! good job. and thanks for the reminder of the easter tree.have a great week.
I love the sweet child on the sofa. She is so sleepy. Poor thing. I do hope she is feeling better. The place looks great. I love the Easter decorations. I think it is a wonderful idea of the tree budding. Thank you for your kind encouragement. I had some touch up in the master bed room and bath room and now at 8 p.pm I am ready to shower!
Love it, Easter snuck up on me this year, I'll see if I can pull out a couple things tomorrow. :-) Great tackle
I'm VERY impressed with the amazingly clean rooms despite a sick child! And the Easter decorations are cute!

Great tackle! The Easter tree and flowers are pretty. I tackled our taxes the past couple days and now have to fill out forms for my son. We also went bowling today, so I didn't get much done around the house. Have a good Easter!
