Sew & Tell Friday: Seasons of the Heart BOM

Honestly, if not for the motivation of Amy's Sew & Tell Friday, I wouldn't have sewn a stitch this week. I worked a lot of hours, and Hancock's was busy. Lots of people sewing for the holidays, taking advantage of all the sales on right now. With week two, I learned that standing on your feet for eight hours cutting fabric (seriously, it has been almost non-stop) is very physically demanding. Oh, my aching hands and feet! Thankfully, I have today off for a little rest, and a bit easier schedule next week. Just have to get through working the weekend. A trip to the Athlete's Foot for a pair of good walking shoes is definitely on my to-do list today...

Anyway, despite the aches and pains, I had Sew & Tell on my mind all week. There was very little of me left in the evenings for sewing, but I was determined to finish something. On Wednesday night, I cut out and fused the pieces for the November Seasons of the Heart block-of-the-month, and last night, I did the handwork to finish up my fall leaves and acorns.

Only one block to go now, and Sandi was kind enough to post the December block early, so we could finish it up before the holidays take up all of our time. I'm excited to see this little quilt come together, even though I have no clue yet what I'll do with it. The blocks sure have been fun to work on.

So that's all, folks. I have a feeling my finishes will be small ones for awhile, at least until my body adjusts to the job a little bit. I still hope to make many of my Christmas gifts this year, and one thing I do get from work is a lot of sewing inspiration, so I hope the adjustment period is over soon. Hard to believe, but Christmas is just around the corner...

I can't decide if I'd be totally sick of fabric if I worked at a fabric store OR if I'd be more addicted and buy way too much.

Your block is beautiful. Wonderful handwork!

I love the background fabric. Never underestimate a great pair of shoes when you are on your feet so much. They are so worth the money.

We were thinking alike about leaves this week! Your block is fun and I love the background fabric.

Do your hands get dry from handling all the fabric?

Sew, we are kindred spirits on the motivation issue-! Cute!
Hey, don't apologize for a little finish. You did some pretty cool stitching, here! And working full time, or long hours part time sure do make it tough to find time to do our creative goals. Good Work!

Very pretty block...glad work is going well too...working the fabric biz is harder than people realize, with all the lifting, standing and cutting, especially fleece.

Beautiful work--it's amazing how motivating sew-n-tell is, isn't it? I feel for your feet--I only work at a fabric store 1 or 2 Saturdays a month and I'm beat that evening. Oh our aching feet! Good job!

I really like your block and the fabrics. So do you work to support you addiction of fabric? I think that's all I would be working for. I guess it's a good thing I don't. Thanks for sharing!
