Photo Hunt #94: Old-Fashioned

What a great theme this week for the Photo Hunt -- old-fashioned! I love all things old-fashioned, and I had several items to choose from, but since I'm so into sewing, I thought I'd share my very old-fashioned, antique Singer treadle sewing machine. (Come to think of it, our brown shag carpet is pretty old-fashioned, too... and I don't love it so much. LOL)

My husband got the treadle from a friend who was just happy to be rid of some clutter from his garage. Well, one man's junk is another man's treasure! Sadly, this treasure is in very bad condition, but I hope to restore both the machine and cabinet and actually use it someday. (Despite treadle machines being old-fashioned, I know of many quilters who still prefer a treadle for quilting.)

Here's a closeup of the machine. Weren't these old machines beautifully decorated?

And the very old-fashioned attachments, found in one of the cabinet drawers:

Check out these cool attachments!

So there's a quilter's take on old-fashioned. I'm posting a day early, since I have to go out of town tomorrow morning. I'll just pop in at the Photo Hunt in the morning and leave my link, then I'll make the blog rounds when I get back home. I can't wait to see all the old-fashioned posts!

This is a gorgeous sewing machine. I love it. I can't imagine how hard these must be to use, but they sure are lovely.

That is a very cool old sewing machine! :) It certainly is beautifully decorated. :) Our mom's mom has one that's not that old (it's circa 1960), but it still has some pretty cool attachments.

My grandmother had one of the treadle Singer machines and I remember the tin box with bobbins. My grandfather (who worked on electric motors) attached a motor to the big pulley underneath to convert hers to a motorized machine.
